Where to mount fish finder

I've got 1991 Procraft Fish and Ski. Also got a Humminbird 597 HD fish finder. Any ideas for where to mount it? The only flat space suitable for mounting is on the outside of the walkthrough glass closest to the bow and I would have to stand and reach over the glass to press buttons on the fish finder while operating the boat. I considered mounting it into the dashboard, but am concerned about having to remove the steering wheel and all of the other wiring behind the dash. Any thoughts?

I should mention that there's already a fishfinder on the trolling motor so it I don't want to mount it on the bow.

Mount it as close to the fish as possible.... just kidding... Check out the RAM gimbal mounts. You can stick one just about anywhere.

Yup, with the ram mounts you don't really need much of a flat surface and they will turn about and direction you need.

It will mount anywhere you want so spend some time thinking about where the best place for you is. I mounted my Humminbird 595c closer to the stern as most of the time that's the direction I'm looking when fishing/trolling. I have a very old Lowrance that shows me depth at speed mounted just forward of the steering. Best of luck. Rick.
