Where to mount spotlight control?

I bolted up a new golight stryker spotlight to my bow pulpit a few years ago (it seems the original light was stolen sometime during its prior ownership). Having an aversion to drilling holes in boats, I never got around to screwing the wireless remote into the helm, but I feel like I should knuckle under and mount the remote at the helm to finalize the installation.

I may be over thinking this, but where is the best location to mount the spotlight control? it's battery powered and RF to the light, so there are no cables or wires to take into consideration. I linked a picture to the helm with the control resting where I'm thinking of installing it, but I wasn't sure if it was wise to have it on the same side as the throttle, or if there are any other considerations I'm not thinking about.

How often do you use the spotlight? Put the remote any place that feels comfortable.

Also if Velcro tape is used on the back, no holes and battery changing is tool-less.

I've never used it once in the 3 years it's been on the boat. Its illegal to run with it on, as far as I understand, so the only time I envision myself using it would be if someone or something goes in at night, or if there's some emergency that would necessitate lighting something up.

I like the velcro idea, but i've see it melt and get nasty when used on anything that'll be in the sun for long periods of time. Is there a good adhesive that isn't quite as permanent as 5200, but will harden and not get gooey in the sun / heat?

If you have a glove box, keep it there. Just remember to test the batteries occasionally.
