Where to start on my 40hp evinrude?

Since I am already going to have to save up and buy some new parts for my 9.5 johnson, I may as well work on my 40hp evinrude too. It is a '61 evinrude 40hp big twin. Was going to get it going last spring but never got to it. This motor has been sitting for about 5 and a half years now, just wondering where a good starting place would be to get it running? It has no spark, so I know some ignition work is going to have to be in place. I'm not talking about restoring the thing, just getting it running so that I can get my boat in the water and maybe do some fishing or something. Thanks any help would be appriciated.

Have you checked the Top Secret File at the top of the forum? There is alot of useful information in there, including things to do on motors that have not been run in a few years. Good luck!
