I recently picked up a 15ft tri hull with a 60 hp Johnson. It has been abandoned for the last 4 years and sitting, don't even know if it floats(but it is a step above my 12ft alum fishing boat. Is there an easy way to see if there are leaks????
The motor I beleive is a 1970 or 71. Hydro Electric Drive. Whats first to check?

I have not been able to finda manufacture name anywhere on the boat there is no VIN#. I do have it registered to me now.

Sure, just launch her and get in. If there's a leak, you'll soon find out.

Alternatively, prop her right side up on land, fill her up with water and see if the outside or the ground gets wet anywhere...

If it's on a trailer, you can fill it with a few inches of water with your garden hose. If no water drips out, the hull's probobly ok. If people ask you what it is, say it's a Katiecraft.
Sorry, I can't tell you much about the motor, but if you post the serial number in the Johnson & Evinrude section, maybe someone can tell you more about it.
