Re: where/what kind of thru-hull for livewell
Im not sure what type boat you have or the access you have to the inside of your lower transome area! Take a look at a bass boat if you know someone who has one! Or go to a dealer!

There are several ways you can do it, all require a fill hole below the water line and another one above for a drain! Plumb it so that when you turn on the airator that it pumps fresh water (below waterline) into the livewell! Position the over flow at the level you want the livewell to fill! Plum the overflow above the waterline towards the front of the tank (side) so it can drain! If it is plubed this way you can leave the livewell on or put it on a timer and it will not overfill! This system is best as it allways pumps fresh water in keeping the water at the same temp as the body of water you are fishing from! Youll need to put in a drain with a plug! This will be best below the waterline or it will not drain well!! You can also use an inline automotive type heater valve, (push pull) inline for the drain! This way you can open it when your boat is in the water and fill the livewell part way! Then close it and fill it the rest of the way with the pump! Also drain it while you go to the ramp if you dont catch any fish! Not that that ever happens!! Dont scrimp on the pump, quality and size, bigger is better! I made one once and plumbed a 1" pvc pipe all the way along the top inner edge of the livewill from the inlet from the pump, capped it and drilled 1/8th " holes about 1" apart pointed sort of down into the water! This airates the water while pumping in fresh water!

As to screens, Ive used them in the past but they seem to be more trouble than they are worth!!

Whew, Hows that???

Hasbeen
