I have a 89 capri with a 5.0, is it under the engine? thanks

It is under the floor in front of the engine compartment.

Look on the deck for some round inspection plates. Either twist or pry off. That will usually give you access to your fuel sending unit. You can get a good idea of the fuel tank layout from there.

Sorry about my reply - thought you wanted to remove the tank, not the gas. From other posts folks recommend a siphon method. Just have plenty of cans laying around to catch it all. Find that inspection plate for the tank itself. Remove the sending unit ( might as well clean it good while out ) and use that as your access point for your siphon hose. Just need to make sure that your receiver cans are lower than the tank - obviously. I would even remove my battery cables before. Probably not needed but why not?
