Well, more delays on the restore. The outboard I bought on eBay on the 5th hasn't arrived yet. Been trying to contact the seller with no luck. Opened a case with paypal 2 days ago. No update yet. I have a feeling I'll be shopping all over again once I get a refund....life is good......

Re: Where's my power ??

Maybe good news. Got a message through eBay/Pay Pal. Seems the seller had a heart attack 2 days ago and his son was supposed to notify his buyers about it. Never got nuttin'.

Anywho, motor due to ship this coming monday and he sent me the shippers tracking number. Hopefully this is resolved, but I'm keeping the dispute open until I get the motor in hand.

I have a feeling however that the motor was never taken to the shipper until today or maybe yesterday, that's why I'm keeping the dispute open for now.
If it ships Monday out of Omaha I should see it by Wed I would think.

Back to werkin on da boat..

That's good news for you, not so good for the seller though. If you have a tracking number and it say's in process then they've been called for a pickup. That can take a few days to happen so don't get distressed if you don't get a "In Transit" notice on Monday. I think you're prudent in keeping the dispute open. I know someone that opens a dispute immediately after buying something just to be sure the buyer doesn't get paid before he gets the product. He's lost a couple of deals that way but feels it was just his insurance method paying off. I have to agree with him to some degree.

if some one did that to me, i would definately cancel his order. most people need the shipping money.

also when i buy, i arrange shipping, and pick up, from my end. i can get cheaper rates, thru freightcenter.com

We'll, like I said, I only somewhat agree with it.

Re: Where's my power ??

I bought a 65 Johnson 33hp elect/long/remote, with ALL of the controls & cables and key even.....:D Got it on auction @$405.00. Didn't want to go over $350.00, but with all of the controls and reportedly it is all squared away. Seller runs some type of a boat repair shop. I figured that $400 was within reason. I'm having it delivered to my local boat repair so they can do a tank test immediately to see if it is in fact as represented. If not, depending on what it needs, I may send it back and demand a refund through pay pal.

I was notified yesterday (late Firday) by the seller with a tracking number that it's due to ship this coming Monday. Went to the DHL web site but there's no record of the tracking number. I figured he just took the motor in yesterday and it being on a friday they won't enter the number in the system until Monday, or when it actually ships. I sent a note to DHL, but being a weekend, won't have response until Monday. I did speak to pay pal and they agreed that I should leave the dispute open until I have the motor in the test tank before closing the dispute.

I hated to open the dispute because the old guy seemed very genuine when we first spoke on the phone. However, he has my money and I don't have my motor. Have to draw a line in the sand at some point. Hopefully this will end on a happy note next week. :)
