Had my mechanic come over tonight and change the oil and filter and check the outdrive fluid. It's a 2.5,120hp, 4cyl. After running it and warming it up, it had 40lbs oil pressure and ran between 160-180 degrees. Shut it down to check the compression and adjust the points. I went in the house for about 5 min. and when I came out, the bilge was pumping water out and water was coming out of the drain in back. I looked in the bilge area and of course it was wet. Where did all that water come from? It has been raining pretty heavy here for the last couple of days, but there was no water in the bilge while he was changing the oil and filter, and like I said we ran it a while to heat everything up and then after there still wasn't any water showing while he checked the plugs and points. Where's the water coming from? thanks-Russ

Check all of your hose connections first. Then check to make sure all the drain cocks on the block are tightened. What year is the engine and drive?

It's a 1982 Renken with the 4 cyl GM motor and OMC outdrive. The water coming out the drain was cool not like it was the water from the engine which would have been warm I thought
