Which boat to buy??

I owned and recently sold a 92 1800XR bought new. Had 120 Force engine. Zero problems, but I took very good care of it. Paid 10k, sold eight years later for 6k. Was very happy with the boat. Good ski\cruiser. I have no experience with Glastron, but I was happy with the Maxum. Always got compliments about how nice looking it was.

buy the maxum it has better name recognition and will hold up its resale value beter than the glasstron will

Maxum is the upscale line of Bayliner. Agree with jon2002 in that it's the care you give it-not always the brand that affects resale.

Glastron is one of the most famous name brands around. Quality boats since the 50's, I own two and would not by any other. Go to http://www.classicglastron.com/ and see almost 50 years of boating history and famous boats. Then go see if you can find a classic Maxum Association, website, or anybody who cares.
