Which engine will an Alpha One outdrive fit?

I read about different model years and descriptions/sizes of mercruiser engines, 4.3, 260, 3.0, 350 magnum, etc.
A lot say "With an Alpha One outdrive" Does the same outdrive fit all engines? If not, where would one look
to find the correct match up?

any engine up to 300 HP will fit the Alpha. It`s the gear ratio that really matters

Ayuh,... The Alpha 1 drive is an Alpha 1 drive,...

The gear ratios change to match whichever motor's turnin' it,...

So it does matter, and it appears the gear ratio is the difference. So, again, I humbly ask where/how would one
find the information as to which gear ratio is compatiable to each engine?

I am not working on one specific engine or outdrive. I merely wanted reference info. I doubt you have them all memorized.
If you do, prove me wrong and list them all.

If it wasn’t for Bondo’s knowledge……..We/I.. (A lot) of us would still be sitting in our boats staring at our engines wondering what to do next!
So im glad he is intellectually superior than i am about boats............ He could very well spend his time doing other things than helping us.
