Re: Which evinrude manual is best

Get some canned air, or use a compressor to help clean them out. Use a good carb cleaner, then follow with starter fluid (ether) to final clean, then blow dry. Pull the jets, all of them from the retaining nut, clean that as well. Clean the intake befor reinstall. Clean seats for the carbs, use a dab of grease to hold gaskets in place while installing. If you use gasket sealer, use very little, just to hold in place. If this motor is like others, nuts will be hard to put back on. Old trick is to dip them nuts in heavy grease to hold in place to get them started. Change gaskets if necessary. Most will look ok, but after several cleanings, they get cracks. You may also wish to consider installing a intermidiate cut off on the fuel supply line. When you are about to put on the trailer, cut the fuel, let the motor starve out. This will keep the carbs from getting clogged. Use proper tools, pliers are good for pulling teeth, but little else. Good luck.
