I can't recommend one over the other but make sure that the connectors and diameter of the fuel line is compatible with your Merc. One other thing for them to work best they must be held vertical or nearly so for the ball inside to seat properly.
All aftermarket fuel lines are crap. They get stiff in very few years and the plastic connectors are wimpy. You can't beat Mercury's lines and bulbs. You'll go thru two in a motor's lifetime. The cheapo crapola you'll be replacing every other year.
I need to purchae a new fuel line and primer bulb for my 35hp 1986 Merc. Looking though the mega mall, there is one from Tempo and one from Universal marine. Is one better than the other (price would indicate that).
Not sure of the make of the one I'm replacing, but the primer bulb does not behave real well.....
I am with willy
most aftermarket stuff is junk
buy a good one from merc or better from suzuki or yamaha. seems the hoses last longer as does the bulb
I have to agree also. I replaced my fuel line and bulb a few months ago. I ordered OMC fuel line and when I replaced the bulb I got a Mercury bulb rather than the stuff you find in most stores. To far to drive that day to get an OMC model. The Mercury bulb doesn't know its on an Evinrude so lets not let him know. Otherwise it might decide to go on strike. I also use Mercury fuel filters. The dealer told me my Evinrude would actually run better with Mercury accessories. So it must be true.
