I'm getting ready to winterize the boat. I know I need to put a fuel stabilizer in the tank for the winter.
I don't ever put ethanol gas in my boat. It looks like most of the marine fuel stabilizers talk about how great they are for treating ethanol fuel in the boat. If I remember correctly regular Stabil is red and the marine version is blue. Is there really any difference? Do I just need the red one since ethanol never goes in the tank? Is there a better product to use instead of Stabil? The boat will be inactive for about 6 months. The tank holds 40 gallons but there's only about 25 in there. I've never been one to fill the tank over the winter. That just seems like more gas to go bad and no room to add fresh gas in the spring.
