Which gas/oil ratio do I use?

I just purchased a 1985 Johnson 40 and the symbol next to the gas line says 100:1 oil mix ratio. I thought I read somewhere to never use 100:1...which do I use 100:1 or 50:1?<br /><br />thanks,<br />Tomo

Stay with 50:1.....100:1, one little mistake of too little oil and its....OOPS! Most of the newer engines with oil injection use 50:1 at WOT and 100:1 at idle or lower speeds
