2005 SX and 5.0 GXI, Which Grease should I use when reinstalling the outdrive? I was expecting a THICK sealing grease, but the shop manual said "Apply a light coat of Volvo Penta Grease P/N 828250 to tapered end of pinion bearing carrier." I have 21347121, which is the same grease in a larger size...it looks just like regular bearing grease....not a thick sealing grease. What seals the bearing carrier to the bellows so no water gets in the bellows? Is it just the fit-up of the carrier to the lip of the bellows? How do I make sure that water does not leak into the bellows? Do you all do what the manual says or something "else"?
Thanks
Scott

You can use pretty much any kind of grease. The grease itself isn't acting as a seal. It just allows the cone of the drive to slide inside the rubber of the bellows easily.

Same, that same Evinrude grease works great on the driveshaft splines and the prop shaft splines.
