Aluminum?Ceramic lined?Or updated cast iron? They all seem to be about the same price.

Closed coolant system, mostly fresh but will get some salt water use! Thanks for the welcome!! I have noticed also that some of these manifolds also have updated designs inside them not just a open chamber, kinda like headers.I like the idea of aluminum but I am afraid it wont hold up to the hot exhaust gases. The weight savings is something like75 lbs less

The aluminum manifolds hold up just fine to the exhaust temps. Also, if your manifolds are also FWC, then there is no need to worry about corrosion, they will never have seawater in them.

I use my aluminum (GLM's) in brackish water. Rinse down boat and flush motor. A couple minutes of prevention will save a pound of cure.;)

When I was looking into this 2 years ago, I ran across one of the performance sites where there were several guys running Aluminum manifolds in saltwater. Many were 5+ years old ans still holding up. MTF was about the same as iron, the just got there differently, one corroded away, one rusted away.
