Which manual for 1975, 888?

Don S, or anyone out there... I broke down and e-bayed a mercruiser manual #C-90-68648 Voulme II. It covers several different engine and out drive models. It does cover some info on the 888, but mostly if you want to rebuild your outdrive and or lower unit. I need something more along the lines of engine service, outdrive removal and replacement. Is all of this covered in volume I, or is there a different Mercruiser manual I need to be looking for?

That is the FIRST manual Mercruiser made, and is for all the engines and drives from 1963 to 1973. Since you have a 75, you should have looked for manual 90-71707. <br />Just remember, those are old engines and drives, (By Marine Standards) and the manuals are not the detailed "How To's" that Mercruiser has now.

Since these older manuals are not real good "how to's", You'll probably be hearing alot more from me!

But at least you will have the manual to reference what someone will be telling you.<br />The #2 manual (The one I gave you the number for) is a LOT better than #1.

I've got volume 1 and 2. I don't think there to bad, 1 maily deals with the acc systems(trim,electrical,fuel,and so on).
