I recently purchased a 1979 Johnson 15, model no: 15BAL79E. The model number plate indicates its a Belgium manufactured model. I can find manuals online for the following models:

15E79E
15EL79E
15R79E
15RL79E

Which one is the correct one for my outboard? Thanks in advance for any help.

If you are buying an OE manual, it should cover all models for the applied HP / model year. For instance, the OE manual I have for my 87 8hp covers a total of 10 different 8 hp model numbers, 5 Evinrude and 5 Johnson. Given that your model was made in Belgium it may not show up in the model listing in a North American specific OE manual. As far as I know there are no significant differences.

Thanks for the info. As a matter of interest, what might be the difference between the manuals listed in the opening post - these are the ones that keep coming up when I search for a 1979 15 hp?
