Looking for manual to help me replace main bearing in merc 1973 200 20hp. which manaul is easiest to understand Clymer or Solec ??? As I am not a mechanic I need a book written for a motor moron, he he he he. any thoughts?
Ryan...you can get the generic Clymers or Syloc at the bottom of the page or go to your local Merc dealer and see if they can get you an OEM manual or suggest where you might find one.
Both of the "generic" manuals cover a whole bunch of motors and because of this aren't real detailed (IMHO). I like the format of the Clymer manual better than the Seloc...but to each his own. I wouldn't want to do any really big job with anything but the OEM manual.
Thanks all for your time and comments. I bought last night at motormanuals.com a Clymer Mercury manual for my motor. A details page told me all i needed to know. It said the book covers complete tear-down and rebuild of the motor. This is just what i needed. Thanks rcobb<br />
