Which Mounting Hole

Ordered the Mercury 150XR-6 for my 2003 Mr.Pike 18' yesterday. I've been reading some archived posts about raising the motor a hole or two. Which hole would you folks recommend I tell the dealer to mount it in to get the best performance.<br /><br />Thanx!

Have it mounted with motors cavitation plate roughly level with mean bottom of boat.Hopefully where the top holes in transom are now at,it will afford you some future adjustment up or down.Only a water check will determine final placement.

Height (X dimension) is a marriage between the hull design technology and the technology designed in the propeller.<br /><br />The higher the tech - the higher the X dimension.<br /><br />Not all hulls nor props are designed the same. Therefore testing is required.<br /><br />Good luck!
