Which OMC manual?

Hopefully this is not too stupid of a question... I am going to be taking delivery of a 1988 Four Winns Horizon 200 this weekend. It has an OMC 4.3L in it. I'd like to order a OMC Factory repair manual asap, but I'm not sure which one I want. I see in ebay listings that some cover 1986 - 199X and some are specific to a 3 letter model (PWC, MAC etc) Does anyone know which model engine is in the boat, or which manual will work? I don't want to get one that covers engine that are updated from mine, or that mine outdates.

Worst comes to worst, I can wait until Saturday when I pick it up to find out the codes on the block.

The OMC factory manual I have is for the model year and all motor types are included.

Most boat model years will match the engine package, on occasion the engine package may be leftover from the previous model year. You may want to wait and check just to be sure.

I would wait until you take delivery of the boat, to be safe. Can you get the model # of the engine? It can be found on the therostat housing. Maybe ask the seller to look at it for you. Good luck!

Ken Cook is an excellent source for finding the actual Part# for OMC Service Manuals and Parts Catalogues. With the Part#'s you will find it much easier to locate the manual you need for the best price. Below is a link to the page you will want to look at. Welcome to Iboats and the world of OMC. My guess on the drive you will need is 1987. You will see what I mean when you go to the link.

There is an '88 book, part #507708, that covers '88, that ken cook doesn't cover.
