I'm gonna ask Santa for an on board charger for two deepcyles at the front of boat. They are wired together for a 12v system but are not identical batteries. Do I need a 1 bank, 2 bank? Any ideas on size style and/or brand would be appreciated. Thanks.
This is a great site!!!

Hi Neil.

Guest and Minn Kota make a variety of good on-board chargers. Sounds like you need a single bank unit.

Check out the different models at The Marine Mega Mall. http://www.iboats.com/mall/

Good luck. :)

I bought a True Charge a while back and was very impressed. I used to live aboard and burned up two chargers before I got that one.

Re: which onboard charger ?

I use a 3 bank (GUEST) on my basstracker for 2-12's in parallel for the troller, and I like this because it allows different charge outputs if you have one batt lower, so it's twice as fast and the 3rd is for the starter batt. It's nice to plug-n-leave.
Check batteries every 2 weeks if left on, as they say they can be, but I've found they vent slightly and you have to watch the water level more closely........... :)
