Re: Which one is my stator?
What I think happened was that the new coil came with a metal washer and we were not sure if we needed to put it on because the book did not say anything about it and neither did the box it came in so, we put it on in front of the coil. We put everything back together and installed the new powerpack, trigger and coils and it fired a few times but not run on its own ( I would have to mess with the carb rails). I believe it is out of time and has been since the day it broke down but, that will be checked when I take it to the shop. Anyways it would not fire anymore so we checked the plugs and we were not getting spark again. I checked the stator with the ohm meter and instead of the .582ohm I was getting before we tried to crank the motor it does not read anything now its just an open coil now. We checked all the wires and everthing looked fine and I happen to look on the ground and seen that metal washer on the ground some how it was slung out from under the flywheel, that is why I don't think we needed that washer. We did not take the flywheel off again because we did not have another startor to use. I bought another stator coil and it should be here and I will be taking it to the shop. Could we have damaged anything else from that stator being damaged? Also, I checked the other wires ( the ones under the flywheel the trigger and other coils and they all looked fine. I just want to make sure that the other parts we put on like the power pack is ok and not damaged.
Please let me know anything.
Thanks
