Before I go and listen to the salesman (Trying to sell whatever is in stock), I wanted to get your oppinion.
I have a 22' Grady. I have a '89 200 Johnson and I'm looking to repower. I go offshore about 5x per yr but can't afford a bigger boat with twins.
I'm thinking about the Yamaha 200 EFI 2 stroke. I want to know what you think about that motor for this boat? My current motor is old and therefore the boat is slow to come out of the hole. Would a new 200 johnson EFI be plenty of power for this boat? Thanks for any info!

You cant make a bad choice if you are going with a Yamaha.I would also consider a johnson for the price difference.Charlie

Johnson does not make a 200 anymore. Evinrude makes a 200.

I run a 1988 23' Wellcraft CC. I had two shops recommend that I repower with a 2004 200 hp Yammy - $14k installed but required bracket, controls & guages (motor alone $10K). I ended up buying a factory rebuilt - $4K.

Thanks for the info.

Today I found a local dealer to sell a new 2003 yamaha 200 EFI Salt water series II with controls, gauges, stainless prop and includes instalation for $10,995 + tax.Comes with a 2 yr warranty. This sounded like the best deal to me. I'm going for it this week.
I feel like a little kid at Christmas...can't wait to hit the water and feel the difference.
