Which outdrive is on a 1990 Stingray 270?

Can someone please tell me which outdrive came with the 1990 Stingray 270 with a big block engine?
There is one coming up for auction very soon and I am trying to gather as much information as possible before deciding to make the 140 mile round trip to inspect it. Any other information on these boats would be great. The user manuals and other (brochure) information I have found on the web so far seems to be more about available material color swatches than usable technical information. The photo I have shows some kind of black drive (not detailed) so I assume it is some kind of merc.

It is probably the OMC King Cobra if it has the 7.4L engine.

Some others on a different forum within this site have suggested it is a Volvo DP A or B series drive.

It is possible that it is Volvo but not likely. From all my research on 86-92 Stingray's they all had OMC motor/sterndrive setups. Then in 93 when Volvo bought OMC, stingray switched to Mercruiser setups. I find it highly unlikely that all other models in their line had OMC setups except for this one. Possible though, especially if there was a replacement along the way.

I'm interested to see what you find out Jim. Ive been looking for a 88-90 SVC 275xl for a while now.

Send some pics of the sterndrive if you can, I might be able to spot an OMC.

These are the only pics I have of it. The boat is 70 miles away. I was trying to find out what drives were offered on Stingray boats in 1990 matched to big block engines to decide if I even wanted to go and inspect the boat before the auction. I currently have two boats, a 21' and a 25' with older OMC drives. I have not had much luck with these.
