which seal is bad..alpha 1

I changed my water pump on my alpha 1. After filling up with gear oil I see oil coming out around the prop after it is almost full. Which seal is bad? or is it the o-ring around the stern drive shaft? Thanks in advance

If you drained out about 2 quarts and it wasn't leaking before you filled it then you probably forgot it, or it slipped out, but it's the quad ring that seals the upper and lower oil transfer hole. WIth the drive split in to it's just to the right of the water pump as facing the drive from it's rear.

i actually havent ran the boat yet... first time filling her up. bought is used
