Which side to mount trolley motor on??

Finally got my first bow mount trolley motor I’ve wanted for over a decade!

My question is which side should I mount it on? I drive and fish off the back of the boat most of the time so I don’t have much experience as a front of the boat guy.

Don't know that it makes any difference...if it does, then I might learn something !!

Generally, its not on the side with the steering wheel (so you can see straight ahead).

Mount It where you have the space. Ideally, you’d want it near the centerline of the boat- but that’s not usually possible (bow lights).
I put mine at an angle and it goes in the water about 8” to the left of centerline. I removed the bow light and installed a flush mounted plug. I bought a bow light that has a short stem that raises it just over the stowed trolling motor. Hope that helps.
