Which size screen to pick. The 5 in or 7 in?

I have decided which brand to buy.. The Standard Horizon. My next big choice is the 5 or 7 inch version. I wonder if the extra 2 inches is worth the 200.00 bump in price.

Please help.....

When you run in split screen mode size can be a big help.
One thing about combo units, they use the same controls to control both the depth finder and the GPS so you have to think a lot more about what your doing before you hit that button.

Remember, those screens are measured diagonally.

The actual screen size of those units are as follows:
7? = 6? x 3.5?
5? = 4? x 3?

Split the 5? screen in two and you end up with a screen smaller than a business card that is 2? x 3.5?. Lay a business card where you want to mount the unit and imagine trying to use it for navigation

The way I look at it is, if you can afford it, go with the biggest screen that will fit. As boatist stated, if you are running in split screen mode, it will make a BIG difference...
