I have a 1979 4hp Evinrude outboard. Model number 49B36D (I think its European hence the problems!).
It currently has NGK spark plugs B6HS. Reading through a few threads it looks like it might run better with Champion plugs - but I'm not quite sure which ones to get. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have seen that the 1979 4 hp motors listed on various sites show Champion L77JC4 plugs - however looking at the parts diagrams my model is slightly different having 2 sets of points and no power pack. Other sites seem to suggest Champion J6J or even L86C. Is there a lot of difference between any of these plugs?
