I need input on my new project. My Chaparell 187xl had an infloor tank but the ex owner said there was a problem with the fuel guage so he bought a portable tank. I was thinking should I try to fix the infloor or get another portable.

The main reason I ask is my floors are Solid and I cant tell how to get the infloor tank out.

And do all inboards need water seperators.

You would likely would have to remove part of the floor to get to the tank. You can get new sending units etc so you could repair if that is the problem. First I would check the wiring and connections for that circuit.

Fuel / water filter's are not mandatory but they sure are nice to have. Never know when you'll be getting a load of junk fuel.
