Which tire is better?

After I bought my trailer I noticed that it has a 530 tire on once side and a 480 on the other. The 480 rim is in better shape. I plan to get two new rims and tires and use one of the original tires as a spare. What are the pros and cons of the 530 versus the 480?

I just changed to a 5.30 -12 "C"class after blowing a tire on the HWY that was what the tire guy said. 80 lbs air and a stronger tire. hope that helps.

You didn't say the rim size, so I will assume 12". The 5.30 comes in a B and C load range. The B load range is typcially 780 lbs, for both the 4.80 and 5.30 and the 5.30 C load range is typically 1040 lbs .

The 4.80 is about 19.5" diameter tire, the 5.30 is about 22".

Depends on what your needs are.

BTW, the 4.80 does come in a C load range too, but its not very common and can not carry as much as the 5.30 C.
