Which to choose 250HP Evinrude 2001 or 2002

I need a new outboard. I have a choice of a 250HP 2001 new Evinrude or a 2002 with about 100 hours on it. Some say that the 2001 had computer problems some say that it was not the best year and that 2002 things were solved. I like the idea of a new 2001 outboard but some say you are better off with a 2002 used. Can anyone help me? Price is about the same. Thank you.

the 2001 engine was produced by omc the 2002 engine by bombardier they are both superior outboards but given a choice i would go with the 2002 because there were quite a few upgrades in quality control and engine tolerences when bombardier took over.
the 2002 is of course only as good as the technicians that have serviced it...bad service bad (junk) motor
the 2001 is only as good as the service it will have
