hey guys (and gals)...1986 sundancer 250 with merc 260. i have 2 batteries with an isolator. last year i bought a new deep cycle marine battery that i use for lights, radios, etc. the other battery is a regular car battery and i use that for starting and running. i think that battery may be on its last leg. what are the recommendations for a new running battery? marine? automotive? deep cycle?

Start bat should be a marine start battery not deep cycle. The more amps the better

I use an automotive battery for the boat's engine start battery (same size as my truck) since the warranty is far longer than marine batteries. I'm covered if the truck battery goes dead out at the lake too. Had to add a couple of auto->marine adapters, the good brass type (not lead), but not a big deal. All other batteries in the boat are marine dual purpose.
