Which water pump kit do I need?

I'm wanting to order a water pump kit online but they have one for a 20" Transom and 25" transom. How do I know if I have a long or short shaft end? My engine is a 1995 Johnson 130HP

Actually, the 20 inch motor is a longshaft and the 25" motor is a extra long shaft. The Johnny model number will have the length embedded in it. A J130EXECD would be a 1998 XL (25") motor. A J130ELECD would be a 1998 L (20" ) motor.

For some waterpump kits, it doesn't matter.

I agree, they have redundant parts in most of them to cover many different BUT SIMILAR units


they have different kits for the same lower units. mainly because some come with housings and some dont . they even have multiple kits with housings!!! wonder whats different in those kits??

my 1995 ocean runner uses the same kit for 20 andf 25: shaft lowers
