Whirlpool Washer codes

I have a Whirlpool Washer WTW6600SW1 model. A month ago it flashed code F__ . The tech came out and was surprized that it did not give a number and told us the computer control was bad.

I replaced the control with the number W10155109 that he said needed replaced. Last night it stopped again with code F51. Today it works again.

Does any know what this code is and where they can be found. The manual list some codes but all F## you are to call for service. I tried the website but they do not list them.

Thanks
Mike

It seems to be common as F51 brings up a lot of google  hits about the speed sensor

With many people fixing it buy opening the control and reseating all the connections

Re: Whirlpool Washer codes

Thanks guys

She had towels in when it went off, so the speed sensor would make sense. It sure spins fast. I would say it was maybe overloaded and the speed was slower than normal.

On F codes the manual wants you to always cancel out and try again and then if it returns to call service. Hopefully, it won't do it again.

I have an extra control box, I had ordered one from Sears and then after telling Whirlpool I was not happy they sent me one for free. I was hoping this was not the same problem. The machine is only 14 months old.

It is too bad the new Maytags are not as good as the old ones. When it went down in January, I had to hook up her 17 year old Maytag.

I do not know about Elite, she called it a Cabrio model.

It is an agitatorless machine, We looked at the calypso and I forget what the differance is.

We love the machine, IMO agitatorless is the only way to go. It uses alot less water, the clothes are clean and the high speed spin reduces the drying time in the dryer.

What I have found is that people either love these or hate them. In the same way that people either love or hate front loads. My sister in law has a front load that she loves. My wife, when ours was down in January used it one afternoon and she said she would prefer going to the laundry mat over using it again.

well on mine I would always get error messages, then the thing would overfill, then it started to eat clothes, when not eating clothes some how would smear grease from the trans on clothes. was sitting level on a concert floor and would still rock and shake so bad that it would turn itself off. Had the main board replaced under warranty still did not solve my problems. I agree it did not use much water when it worked.

I hope yours works out for you.
