white smoke

what is causing my motor to pour out white smoke.it started to do it just like that.it still runs good,just smokes like crazy. its a 1976 75hp evinrude thanks for any help.

Could the fuel be contaminated? maybe water from a blown head gaskit?<br /><br />dm

i changed the fuel and also put a new head gasket on. dont know if i got the head bolts torqed the right way cause it still smokes

You have done some work on the head, has it been "cooked"? if so the head may have a warp in it.

10 ft/lbs then 15 ft/lbs finally 19 ft/lbs<br />alternate bolts evenly down / up and side to side the on the head.<br />Look for strange piston wash when you pull the head but a big leak will be obvious.<br />Surface it before reinstall or you are wasting your time.<br />Find out if/why and repair.

thanks for all the help. i will have the head checked out . also could the exhast gasket or seal be bad causing it to smoke
