We had almost no snow last Christmas. The grand kids couldn't even toboggan. They had to come back a week later, but at least we got to see them again.

Looks like a bunch of snow on a cow pasture to me.

Well, there was a lake under there last fall. And anyway, the pastures around hear are a lot hillier.

I decided a while ago that I could not tolerate living ANY further north than I currently do.

Thanks for the pictures. You helped me make up my mind. I'm going fishing tomorrow. The water in 'Bama isn't hard.

I usually aim for the May 24 weekend. It's that late by the time I get the docks in and do whatever work on the boat.

I am planning on a Trent-Severn holiday this June, from here in the 1000 Islands to Fenelon Falls so maybe I'll pass you.

A lot of people around hear have switched to four wheelers so that they can run them all year. The snowmobile season is getting shorter all the time. We've had more sleds going by hear the last week than we had all winter.
But don't get the wrong idea, I do enjoy the winter. Yesterday I was out snow shoeing for two hours. It was a beautiful sunny day.

Hi eastont: We're on the north end of Lake Scugog, so you won't be going by our dock unless you take a detour down through Lindsay. However, we spend a lot of time in Bobcaygeon and Fenelon Falls.
What's the name of your boat? Ours is the Sanway II.

If I lived in SSM, I'd have one of those things too. It's sled perfection up there. Down here, it's a few legit enthusiasts amidst a lot of cowboys wrecking their machines, drinking, and crashing into ice huts, each other and pressure cracks with the throttle pinned trying to get a whole season of miles covered in the 2 or 3 weeks of sleddable winter we get anymore. .

Well,I did go friday but the wind was up and the temp was down. After 45 min it began snowing! I must be getting soft in my old age because I called it quits and put the boat back in the garage. Monday's forcast calls for high of 59* so I'll go then.
