Who can figure this out?

i have a 1982 75hp evinrude that runs great at full speed for about 45 sec then shuts down to an idle and starts to cut out but when you turn it off for a while it works for about 45 sec then the same thing happens again have had carbs rebuilt ,new power pack ,plugs , gas changed, any ideas on it will be great thanks for all your help

Things to check.
Put a timing light on igniton wires to see if ignition is failing when hot.

also,...

Gas tank vent, fuel pickup in tank, anti-syphon valve at tank.

Faulty or weak fuel pump?

See if you can keep it running wih a little steady pressure on the primer bulb. That will eliminate the fuel pump as the problem.

Make sure that the flywheel is torqued to specifications and that the flywheel key is good.

yes already tryed the bulb it still did the same compression is 170 on all

45 seconds sounds like you are just running off the fuel from the primer solenoid. Check your carburetor float valves and make sure that the jets are clear.

Primer solenoid could be flooding the engine out if the valve is not set or working correctly.

i have seen a lot of fuel on the water when first starting it but when it cuts down to idle i have to pull the high speed lever and i can go at an idle all the way back to the dock but if i try to put the lever down it dies and more gas on the water thanks

When were the carbs rebuilt with new kits ?
Simple to DIY.
watch the vid of carb rebuild, the hardest part is pulling them off the engine.

yes sir cleaned and new kits that was done at the boat shop

Temporarily clamp the hose leading to the primer solenoid and see if things change.

Check to make sure you fule line buld is facing the engine. There should be an arrow on the bulb showing yoy the direction the bulb should be pointing.
