A forum thread I was following suddenly disappeared. Can the OP do that or does it require a mod/admin? I'm just curious.

Only admins and Mods can delete topics, unless vB5 takes a dump....

We don't delete threads unless a spammer starts them, but we do close them for various reasons. You are a toon thread follower, probably a motor question the toon section, so it was moved.

What was the thread title?

I think I know what thread it was it was about vinyl wrap on the pontoons I cannot remember the name of the poster was m something.I called him out on the post and all of a sudden every post he did was gone? Think it was a good hacker he had six post and they all end with( issue resolved) and never replies again. Keep and eye out for him.

The old "issue resolved' guy. After investigation and finding every thread he started ended with a quote of the original post with added links embedded and "issue resolved". Banned him and deleted all his posts and if the 1st post of a thread is deleted, the thread goes too.

Well I'm glad I didn't say "issue resolved."

There's another one! :ban:

Meh, already got my quota for today, so you get one more chance, Tommy.

No, we don't have a quota.

What happens is a guy comes and asks what appears to be legitimate posts which gets replies and a week or two later, boom, he comes back with the "issue resolved" post with a quote of the doctored original post. Often the perp does all of them one after the other. That's why he had 6 "issue resolved" posts. We can't catch them until they return and do that.

We usually mass delete all posts by the perp when we catch and ban him. After the delete we see how many threads he started. Sometimes it's a bunch, a six pack for that one.

That's why we ask y'all to flag posts that are smelly. Sometimes they are valid posts and sometimes not, but we have ways to find out with a few tricks up our sleeves.

How can we see if they're legit ?
