Same here. At least yesterday was nice here and we were able to get the boat out on the river. Looks like we are supposed to get rain through Wed.

Nashville is battening down as well ... I snuck out for a shakedown run on Saturday knowing I wasn't seeing water the rest of the week unless is was falling on me.

Statewide I believe we had 17 reported tornado touch downs. My county had 3 that caused damage. There was one fatality and numerous injuries.

Statewide I believe we had 17 reported tornado touch downs. My county had 3 that caused one fatality, numerous injuries, homes damaged and power lines down. I had to stop on the way home due to the storm and was talking to our sheriff when a thoughtful female citizen stopped to inform him that he and his entire department were nothing more than power hungry egotistical thugs and threw some politicians name out. I wanted to drag the woman from her car and slap the taste out of her mouth ! ! The sheriff smiled, shook his head a little and politely told her she was entitled to opinion and if she would show proof of residency in the development she was trying to access he would let her in otherwise she would have to wait until power company gave the all clear. His last statement to her before she drove away was "Quite frankly ma'am, I dont really care who you know or who you go tell. My deputy that you drove past has already your tag and you dont reside here. You are here to site see and if you dont obey my lawful order I will lock you up."

She drove away with her feelings hurt.

Wish I'd known Joe - I'm not that far away and would have been glad to check in on her. Our place wasn't bad LOTS of water, but no rotations.

I know it was lots worse to the South of us.

Ehenry - Good for your Sheriff. Honestly, those guys are gaining a lot of ground IMHO. They've got a heckuva' job and are very important to their community. Hope you and yours made it through everything okay.

SouthKogs, we made it through just fine. The worst I suffered was a pelting by some hail while I was making a brake from my shop to my house just as it started. It was pea and some marble size and IT HURT !

You're correct, the county sheriffs department in any given county isn't nearly what it use to be. Our department here had 7 or 8 guys when I was a teenager. Two of whom worked the jail and the rest working the "crime". Now its grown to 50 road running deputies, 8 investigators, 8 narcotics officers and 20 support staff. The jail has gone from holding 50 to 60 to housing 700+.

I'd say our department has gained LOTS of ground in the last 30 years or so years.

Still raining herein MN.. been raining for a week now.. We need it though and it is worth waiting it out, once the sun comes out it everything will green out fast!! Also means summer is right around the corner.. Been a long cold winter and a little rain is a nice change..

I needed my boat to get to my camper, almost literally. Second from the end is mine. We faired better than some of my neighbors. This is in mohican, loudonville Ohio

It was worse several years ago. Much worse. Every camper in that place except 2 were totaled, mine was spared. There's something to be said about high ground along the mighty mohican.

I'll see if I can dig up some of those photos later tonight. Everybody likes carnage right.

I'm heading down tomorrow night to see if we have any damage. The camp owner posted pictures today, the water is all gone, I think we made it OK, not sure about the neighbors yet. Guaranteed it's going to be a long weekend on the Kubota trying to get the 6 ton of gravel back they just put down last Saturday.

I'm sure they could if they really wanted to. We are lucky there in that there is a automated depth gauge 3 hours up river, then another one in town. So we have a few hours notice before it gets that bad. Enough time to get down and pull them out under normal circumstances.

Mine is the 5er next to the red truck in the first pic. I'm about 6ft higher than the neighbors that were flooded.

Hard to tell but the river is just on the other side of the camper. The tree at the axel on the far side is all that kept it from going in the river. His was only turned sideways, we had several upstream that were turned over on their sides. Scary how much force water has.

Cant tell in this picture, but this camper was in lower ground, much like the ones I posted pictures of from this years flood, there was a water line about a foot high on the sliding glass door

The campground owners brother's truck. He left in a hurry to help the owner pull canoes from the livery to try to save them. Water came up so quick they couldn't get back in the campground to get it out. Notice the water line on the front window.


And finally mine at the time. Water just reached the frame rails from what we could tell. Another inch or two and we would have been a total loss as well. The deck was really fun to put back in place. I ended up using the trackhoe and the front end loader to put it back.
