Who is the best parts supplier?

I have used BAM Marine, Doug Russel and Crowley Marine for parts in the past but haven't bought any in a couple of years.

Recently I started loosing power and traced it down to bad reeds in number two cylinder. :( I can't complain about an engine that has had the same reeds in it for almost 25 years. In any case, I will be replacing them and changing out the carb needle seats with the alcohol resistant type.

I have recently found that the green rubber seats in the bottom jet carbs are swelling due to contact with gasahol. This reduces the inlet size causing a leaner mixture at the higher power settings when you need the fuel.

In any case, please give me your experiences with the parts houses so I can decide where to buy.

Thanks,

John

Re: Who is the best parts supplier?

John,
Found maxrules.com seems to have the best parts listings for my Force outboard. Can't speak to the pricing ($18 for a thermostat and gasket seems a little pricey).

Good luck and thanks for your previous help.

John, I've been ordering from boats.net the last few times seems like there prices are better than most other places.

John,
The first place I usually check is eBasicPower in NC. I purchased a stator and trim motor from them because they were the lowest total price (item and shipping). Shipping is pretty quick too.

That's another that I had not heard of before. Fast shipping is always a plus.
