Who makes it

I have a 1985 force outboard. I was wondering who actually makes force. I have heard that it is chrysler, and i have heard it is mercury. So who is it

Bayliner bought out Chrysler and Force became their "inhouse" engine. The early one were same as the Chrysler Later Bayliner begin making some up grades to the Chrysler design<br />Bottom line: Force is a division of Bayliner
