I have seen some people...among them even JB, say that he has had a 70 run fine on SuperTech.
It is all up to specs...TCW3 etc...
Does anybody know who makes SuperTech 2 cycle and lower unit lube for Wal-Mart?
How do you feel about it?
Experiences with it?

Unlike TC-W3 which has to be tested and certified to bear the NMMA logo, as far as I can tell lower unit oil can be 'most anything they want to bottle up. As I see it, trust the major motor (BRP, Mercury, Yamaha, etc) mfr's or take your chances. Fortunatly, most lower horepower motors aren't that fussy. If you have a $15,000 motor you can afford to buy the recommended oil.

There's a great article with some surprising info in this month's BWB Magazine (formerly Bass & Walleye Magazine) on lower unit oils by one of the best techs in the industry. And yes, he's a member of this forum.

I used to work for a company that built bottling equipment, so I have been in a couple of oil plants. In general, what I was told was that they could put name brand oils and lubes in the generic bottles, but not vice versa. Often times the only change they did from name brands to generics was a bottle change. So they would start with the name brand, run the quantities they needed, and switch the bottles only and pull from the same batch. You would be surprised. I have seen MotorCraft oil and GM oil being run on the same line, the same bulk tank the same day, then they switch the bottles to store brand and ran out the tank. Rick

Remember, TCW III is an addative package minimum requirement. Just because company X makes the oil for company Y doesn't necessairly mean it's the same. The oil X makes for itself could exceed the minimum requirement and actually be a better oil than what they make for Y. Or vise versa.
