A few years ago a friend and I, who I fished with a lot, decided to go to the lake and see if the smallies were hitting (Lake Erie). After getting there I jump in the Bass Boat and waited for him to back me in like he has so many times before. The difference this time is, I have a new Blazer which he is not familiar with. He asked me how to lock the Blazer and I said "just hit the button on the door" (electric locks). He did and shut the door all while I'm still in the boat with the Blazer still running on the ramp and now it's LOCKED! Now mind ya, this is a brand new Blazer, I grab a screwdriver and tried to pry the door, that was only partially closed, and using one of my flipping rods, I try to depress the button on the dash to open the rear door. I'm trying and trying and finally I tell him to start hoofing it to a pay phone and call the wife, who is 25 miles away sleeping, to bring the extra set of keys. Now think about this, I'm motionless, it's 5:00 am and I'm tying up one side of a two ramp dock. Along comes other boaters and they are putting in and notice my problem and ask if they can help. I thank them and off they go. Soon after I finally managed to get the rear door open after ruining my flipping rod. My buddy (?) returns and now we're set. I make him crawl thru the Blazer and unlock everything. We finally get ramped and we're out fishing a point when one of the boats that was ramping next to us stopped. This man yelled out, "does your wife own a gold Camaro"? Yep! I said... His reply was "Boy is she p_ss_d off when you weren't at the ramp.. It's a good thing I brought a couple of walleye back for dinner!
After 39 years with her, we still laugh about it.
