What's hot, and what's biting - Florida West Central Gulf??

Looking to see what everyone is catching now?
What methods are you using and the "hot spots"??

a little of everything, snook, redfish, trout. Have seen a few tarpon rolling so I expect a good year. Just got back from the Keys, went trolling for dolphin off a sportfisher that belongs to a friend, found them but couldn't get them to feed, maybe in may.

we were out past the five mile reef, near the shipping lanes which are like 12 miles offshore. Saw some nice schoolies but the water was clear and they were spooky. It'll turn on soon, good times.

Almost a week ago I took some friends out but the big blow came again and we had to stay inshore. Very little bait to be had, but when we had them the mackerel were eatin em up. Put six fish in the boat...all down around Ft Desoto and Egmont Key. Your new neighborhood, Rick!!

it's been kinda weird lately, the fronts have been killing what was great fishing. I'm gonna go look for cobia tomorrow, I've been seeing alot of big rays lately so they should be here soon.....mmmm grilled cobia.

Can't wait to join in the action!!

Rick...the last time I was down, did make a run out and around Anna Maria Island.....close to Egmont Key, but didn't actually head out there.
That surely will be my "new neighborhood"....lol.

Sam.....are the Cobia most in-shore or out on the reefs/wrecks??

And......

Mark1905....I do have "Florida Sportsman Magizine" in my favorites.
You are correct - a lot of great information and stories about the local fishing spots...tatics...etc....
