I have got it in my head that it would be fun to get the iboats forum mentioned on Mythbusters, any suggestions for a good topic - it should be somewhat interesting to the general public, and have a good pretext for a big explosion.

I was thinking maybe something about lightening and metal vs. fiberglass boats?

How about using a metal helm wheel? Or using the VHF?

The one about the touching the VHF antennae and being shocked when the mike is keyed...that will be a decent one.

I think waxing or not waxing your boat hull seems to be a hot topic every time it comes up.

I still ain't happy with their answer to that picture of the boat hull wrapped around the pole. They didn't hit in the dead center of the nose, instead got a glancing blow off to the side of the pole. When I hit the dock pole off center with my boat (I don't, but were I to) I glance off with no trouble. If I hit it dead on with the nose, It stops real hard, and causes a bit of damage. I want to see that one redun.

Simple..use your head...saw it at the last moment, turned, and NOW thats a straight shoot back as it slammed the boat back to port..

That's not a myth...it happend to me once on a radio that I had been using for over a yr. The radio was also professionally installed by a marine elec shop. I never figured out what happened but I think static charge built up and zapped me when I keyed the mic. The weather was fair and no T-storms around. It fried the radio too.
