Why are there two aluminum 12" pitch props available from yamaha? (10.625 and 11.375)

Just wondering why there are two different diameter 12" pitch props availabled from yamaha? I always though the diameter stayed somewhat similer and you just selected whatever pitch you need.

Anybody have any reccomendations about what prop for a 2005 F60 on a 19" fiberglass boat, hull is about 1200lbs.

Diameter fits into the geometrics of the design, and designs differ by mfgr. Yam probably subs out their prop mfgr to a prop house. Possibly they have props from 2 mfgr's which have different design standards. Dia doesn't make all that much difference in performance anyway...for minor variations.

Can't help on the pitch selection for your boat.

the high thrust models have a different prop than the regular 4 stroke models, get an engine number and call a dealer for proper pitch and diameter.

Here at I boats there are 5 different diameters listed for the 12" pitch.
103/8" to 11 3/5.
I believe yours is only 3/8 of an inch difference. The slightly larger prop
might be less sensitive to venting(cavitation) and may do better on a difficult application like a pontoon.
As suggeted above most of the diameter sizes are a result of the individual
company design.and you likely wouldn't notice the difference except in the extreme approaching an inch difference.

Both were listed as options for the F60. Strange.

If I were to look at the performance tests on the yamaha site for a starting point, does it matter if the length is different assuming the weight is about the same?

If you read the stickys at the top of the page. And get us as much info as possible.
we should be able to help you select a prop.
As far as the tests a boat close to what you have and some above and below can give you an idea what works.
