Why can you not gravity fill Alpha 1?

I know you are supposed to fill it from the bottom up, but without an adapter I can't do it right now.

Is it possible to fill from the resevoir and use gravity feed, remove the bottom screw until lube comes out then put it in and leave vent open until lube comes out of it?

Just did the pump - I hate questioning myself as to whether the vanes are going the right direction. Checked and checked and then when it is together start to question it UGH!

Fill from the bottom or loose a drive. Your choice.
The pumps for quart bottles are only 10 or 15 bucks.

Ok, I'll have to wait until tomorrow to get the pump.
Was just hoping to start it tonight for the first time.

It wasn't the cost as much as just not having it here.

PLEASE fill from the bottom!!!!!!! You will leave air pockets.The vanes on the impeller need to be greased and will go in the correct direction on their own. Jerry
