Why can't I find wire diagram from 2005 115 4 stroke?

I have been searching and searching for a wire diagram for my engine to no avail. 2005 115 elpt four stroke 1B158433.

My year is the Yamaha power head (pretty sure). I think I found a diagram to buy on ebay but don't know why I just can't buy or look one up that has been posted.

Any help would be appreciated. I'm google imaged out. :joyous:

The wiring diagrams ought to be inside the service manual for your engine model/year still...Your manual looks to be Mercury part number 90-881980r03.

That mentioned, I'm not to sure what may had changed for wiring harness pin outs, colors, sensors, etc.to your engine year, But there is a manual from 2002 which is 2 versions back from your recommended manual that you can at least look over to maybe compare notes to see if it may help give you a general idea of what you're attempting to do while you wait for your needed manual to come in...., http://boatinfo.no/lib/mercury/manuals/115.html#/508

Or try searching online your manual part number to see if you run across a versions ending in R03 for free or buy...The one linked above ends in R01.

Thank you for all the work Fun Times! I do have that very manual that I bought a couple of months after I bought the boat. It doesn't have the wiring diagram (or schematic) that I am looking for with the color codes and such. It shows harness and plugs but not the color break down that I need.

RideNFishCA If the colored wiring diagram isn't found in your revised service manual which is usually towards/near the rear of the manual like the one I linked above in section 8 then that may mean they had went to using a wiring diagram binder by then starting with the outboards...Mercruiser stern drives started using the binders in 2007 that I recall.

But before you order it/one, you could try to confirm that is the correct one/part number by either calling or emailing contact mercury marine customer service Outboard Customer Assistance using your engine serial number, https://www.mercurymarine.com/en/us/contact

They're usually pretty good at getting back to you by email....If not them then maybe your local Mercury marine dealer could try finding the right one for you to order too.

Zippady I forgot to thank you for that picture of the wiring. Thanks for doing that. I downloaded the pic and can blow it up enough to read the color codes.
