I am in the second year of owning my second Crownline, bought it off craigslist, after test drive and previous owner going over everything we could think of. The first crownline had the stern light under the bench seat, but this boat just didn't have one. So last year I bought one. This past Labor Day weekend while out, my twelve year old son held up the original light (longer than the replacement), he said it was clipped up under the port side panel. I thought those panels were there only to hide wiring and cables,(not accessories)Anyways I now have a spare.

Lights are required, at least if you want to get back to the landing after sunset. I would think that finding out where equipment is stowed would be part of taking possession of the boat.

There are so many things that are important in taking possession of a boat, I was more concerned with the condition of it and not overlooking something major, the stern light totally slipped my mind. Truth be known, the fellow I bought it from had only had it a couple of years and probably didn't know himself.
